Welcome to Conga

Conga exists to help people spend more time together in real life.

Whether you’re starting something, joining in, or simply seeing what’s happening around you, every Conga is created by people who choose to participate in real life.

Our community works because people trust one another. These guidelines are here to help keep Conga welcoming, authentic and safe for everyone. If you’re doing something that makes people feel included, respected and excited to get involved, you’re probably doing it right.

These Community Guidelines are incorporated into our Terms of Service. By using Conga, you’re agreeing to follow them.

Be respectful

• Treat other people as you would want to be treated.
• Don’t bully, harass, threaten, intimidate or deliberately embarrass others.
• Help make Conga a place where everyone feels welcome.

Protect children

Conga is intended for adults, and we remove underage accounts when we find them.

We have zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation or abuse. Content that exploits or abuses children is prohibited and will be removed when identified. We will report suspected child sexual exploitation or abuse to the appropriate authorities where required or appropriate.

Keep content safe

• Don’t post content that’s violent, graphic, or shows real injury or harm.
• Don’t post content that incites or glorifies violence against people or animals.
• Don’t post content that depicts or promotes illegal drug use.
• Don’t post nudity or sexual content.
• Don’t post content that encourages others to do something dangerous or harmful.

Meet safely

Conga is about doing real things with real people, sometimes people you haven’t met before.

Use your judgement, just as you would when meeting anyone new: pick public places where other people are present. It’s also a good idea to let someone know your plans. And trust your instincts — if something feels off, consider not attending.

You can block users or leave a Conga at any point, no explanation needed. If you or anyone else is ever in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.

Keep it real

Conga is built around real experiences, and people should be able to trust what they discover.

• Only post photos and videos that are genuinely connected to the Conga you’re attending. Don’t upload unrelated, old or misleading media.
• Don’t impersonate others.
• Don’t create fake Congas, or Congas that don’t genuinely reflect something happening or about to happen.
• Don’t pretend you’re somewhere that you’re not.
• Don’t deliberately mislead people about what’s happening, or create events that are misleading, deceptive or intentionally disruptive.

If your plans change, update or cancel your Conga where you can, so people can rely on what they see. Help keep Conga a trusted window into what’s happening right now.

Everyone deserves to feel welcome

We don’t allow hate speech or content that attacks people because of characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation or gender identity.

Conga is for bringing people together, not dividing them.

Safety first

• Don’t use Conga to encourage dangerous behaviour.
• Don’t organise activities intended to harm, threaten or intimidate others.

Respect people’s privacy

• Only share photos or videos you have the right to share.
• Don’t publish someone’s private information without their permission.
• Don’t use Conga or information you see on Conga to track or monitor someone’s whereabouts without their knowledge or consent.
• Respect people’s boundaries online just as you would offline.

No scams or spam

• Don’t use Conga to scam people.
• Don’t send unwanted promotions.
• Don’t manipulate engagement.
• Don’t create fraudulent events, sell fake tickets, or mislead people about admission, prices, or what they are paying for.
• Don’t create multiple accounts to mislead others.

Congas are for genuine activities and events — not for advertising your everyday goods, services, or business hours. A weekly happy hour, a pop-up tasting, or a one-off open studio night is a Conga; “we’re open 9–5 every day” is not.

Respect ownership

• Only upload content you own or have permission to use.
• Respect copyrights, trade marks and other intellectual property rights.

Self-harm and harmful content

Don’t encourage, promote or glorify suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.

If someone appears to be in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services.

Reporting

We rely on our community to help us keep Conga real, clean and inclusive, and we’re genuinely grateful every time someone takes the time to report something that isn’t right.

If you see something that doesn’t belong on Conga, please report it using the reporting tools within the app, selecting the option that best describes the issue.

If you see something you believe is illegal, please report it and also contact us directly at report@congamedia.com.

Reports are reviewed by our team. We may also use automated tools to help identify or surface content that requires review.

What happens if users break our guidelines?

We believe our guidelines are fair and reasonable. If they’re breached, depending on the severity or frequency, we may:

Serious breaches may result in immediate and permanent removal of accounts without warning.

Appeals
